Artist: Aircut
Aircut (A.K.A. Jim Urqhart) is a 28 year old producer from Chichester, West Sussex. Since the age of 14, he has been a big fan of dance music, though his taste has changed through the years. Jim started Djing in '96 playing uk garage, and by 2001 he really started getting into the hardhouse scene. About this time, Jim took a diploma at SAE in audio engineering. He really got the production bug, and started buying music equipment. Having finished his diploma in London, Jim returned to Sussex, where he landed a job with Sir Piers, the house producer, as his engineer. This job really opened Jim's eyes to recording and production. All his previous work had not been vocal. "I really learnt a lot in those couple of years. I got really into the soulful house vibe, working with musicians and singers," he says.
The Aircut vibe is commercial main room house, with great vocals, with influences of the Freemasons, Bootyluv, Shapeshifters, among many others. Jim loves working with new singers and he is always up for any remix projects.
